Designing for Flexibility & Mobile
The analytics for the previous Closet Revival site showed that over half of the site visitors were from mobile devices brought in by social media like Instagram and Facebook. The new design would focus on this audience and present a simple and easy-to-use experience.
When the owner had some difficulty visualizing and selecting site colors, the WordPress Customizer API was added to the back end of the site. This tool would allow the owner to use a color picker for brand colors and see the updates to the site before going live with them.
Another big feature added to the site was creating a Facebook Catalog and linking the Closet Revival Instagram account to it. This would allow their Instagram account to create Shoppable Posts. These posts show a shopping bag icon that when clicked will take the user to the item being sold on the website.
